Contacts and Facilities
Part II students are treated as full members of the Department, which is unusually large and diverse. There is a tradition of easy and informal access to members of the teaching staff and others, with whom students share the Tea room and other facilities and activities. The friendliness of the Department is often one of the first things a student will mention about the course.
Part II students have full use of the excellent and comprehensive facilities provided by the Balfour Library, including workstations. There is also a dedicated Part II computer room with full facilities.
Dr Rebecca Kilner is the current Part II Zoology course organiser and is available to give you advice and information on any aspect of the course, and to deal with any day-to-day problems that may arise during the year. She can be contacted by email (rmk1002@cam.ac.uk), telephone (3)31766, or in person (room F20 on the first floor). You should feel free to contact her as your first port of call when you have any questions or difficulties connected with the Zoology course.
Professor Bill Sutherland is the current Part II BBS (Zoology) course organiser and is also available to give you advice and information on the course. He can be contacted by email (wjs32@cam.ac.uk), telephone (3)36686 , or in person (room F102 on the first floor).
Rachel Aucott and Nell Cox organise many practical aspects of the course, and are always willing to discuss issues with Part II students. Their room is at the far of the computer room.
Clair Castle is the senior librarian and can help with any matters related to the library or online access to journals/books.
Students are welcome to attend Happy Hour in the Tea room on Friday afternoons. Parties for Part II students are held at the start of Michaelmas Term and after the exams.
CamTools
The Part II Zoology area on the CamTools website has many useful resources for students, including lecture handouts and course information - http://camtools.cam.ac.uk. You will automatically be subscribed to this site. You will need to use your Raven ID and password to log onto CamTools, which you will also be able to access during the vacation.
