Admissions requirements for members of the University of Cambridge
Members of the University of Cambridge are admitted upon production of a valid University Card or University Library Card at the Zoology Department Reception.
Admissions requirements for visiting readers
Visiting readers are admitted at the discretion of the Academic Librarian and should arrange an appointment with the Senior Library Assistant in advance, and indicate the material they wish to consult, usually for reference purposes only.
Access is not normally granted without an appointment. Appointments can only be arranged or take place between 8:30am and 4:30pm, Monday to Thursday, or between 8:30am and 4:00pm on Fridays.
Upon arrival, visiting readers should supply a form of valid photo ID, showing both name and permanent address, as well as a letter of introduction from an academic institution. A valid University Library Card may suffice, depending on the material readers wish to consult.
Admissions requirements for all readers
Library staff supervise the use of rare materials in the library and all readers are required to sign for these beforehand.
All readers are required firstly to report to Reception, and then to register at the Library Office.
Please contact the Senior Library Assistant at firstname.lastname@example.org in the first instance.
