The Senior Library Assistant will request the supply of material (principally books, chapters from books, or copies of journal articles) for you that is not available within Cambridge.
In order to process your requests we require that you sign a Copyright Declaration Form to say that the item will be used solely for private study or research and NOT for any commercial purpose. Please contact the Senior Library Assistant if the item you require is to be used for any direct or indirect commercial purpose, because a special copyright fee must be paid. By law you may only request one article from any single journal issue, one chapter or 10% of extracts from a book.
Please download a copy of the, complete and sign it and give it to the Senior Library Assistant for processing. Alternatively you can ask the Senior Library Assistant for a copy of the form. One form must be completed for each individual request that you make. Please sign the forms by hand; we regret that electronic signatures are not acceptable.
Please note: the signed form(s) MUST be received by Balfour Library staff before they are legally able to request items from the British Library.
Please note that journal articles copied for you in this way cannot be used for teaching purposes. If you require articles for teaching an alternative route must be taken; please ask the Senior Library Assistant for advice.
Standard delivery of items should be within four working days.
