last modified Apr 07, 2016 02:53 PM

Sir David Attenborough has been speaking of his pride after a new global conservation hub was named after him at the University of Cambridge.

Sir David, who abseiled down the building yesterday, said: "By bringing together leaders in research, practice, policy and teaching, we stand the greatest chance of developing the solutions required to save our planet."

Yesterday Sir David made quite an entrance, to a standing ovation from the packed Babbage Lecture Theatre, in the David Attenborough Building.

In this clip, he explains that he is honoured for this particular building to bear his name.
