Zoology Postdoc Committee
Welcome to the Department of Zoology from your Zoology Postdoc Committee. We pride ourselves on being a friendly bunch in Zoology, and will do our best to try and help with any concerns or uncertainties you might have. Sometimes the Department can seem a little spread out, so even if you are already settled in, email us anyway and introduce yourself. We’d love to hear from you.
We organise events and workshops relevant to postdocs and early career researchers in Zoology. These include the Summer Seminar series, which gives postdocs a chance to present their work to other members of the department outside their own research group, and our successful Workshop series, which has covered topics such as how to write a research and teaching statement, or what to put in the ideal cover letter. Both events provide a great opportunity to meet other postdocs in Zoology, and bond over some free pizza or cake.
We also represent and stand up for the interests of Zoology postdocs within the Zoology Department and in the wider University.
You will be automatically subscribed to the Zoology Postdocs mailing list, which will keep you informed about any events we organise. If not, then contact a committee member and we’ll add your email address to the list.
Suggestions are always welcome, whether for events we might organise, or if there is an issue relevant to postdocs in the Department that you think needs championing!
All committee members are volunteers, and we are always happy to welcome new people to join the committee.
The current committee members are:
Dr Oskar Brattstrom from the Radiating Butterflies group
Dr Kristen Crandell (Secretary) from the Insects Biomechanics Workgroup
Dr Constance Dubuc from the Large Animal Research Group
