Travelling to Cambridge
Via London Stansted: Stansted, London's third airport, is the most convenient airport for Cambridge as it is only 25 miles away. There are direct coach and train services to Cambridge. The coach service runs regularly throughout the day with a less frequent service at night. The journey takes approximately 50 minutes from the airport to the centre of Cambridge. Direct Trains from Stansted airport run hourly and take approximately 30 minutes to Cambridge station. The cost of a taxi to Cambridge is about £45 (45 pounds). If you are driving from Stansted, follow signs to the M11 North to Cambridge.
Via London Heathrow:There is a direct coach service from Heathrow airport to Cambridge that runs every 30 minutes, starting at 03.30 through to 23.05. The journey takes approximately 2½ hours. The bus can be picked up at the Central Bus Station, near to Terminals 1 to 3. (Transferring between Terminal 4 and the Central Bus Station is free of charge via the Heathrow Express service.)
Via Gatwick:A direct bus service from Gatwick airport operates from 02.00 to 20.10. The journey takes about 4 hours.

London's Stansted airport is a 40 minute drive from Cambridge; Heathrow and Gatwick are about 2 hours.
Cambridge is well served by several major roads, the M11, the A1(M) and the A14 making it easily accessible from all parts of the UK.
The simplest way into Cambridge is to join the M11: Leave the M11 at junction 12 and turn right onto Barton Road, following it to the City Centre. Turn right at first roundabout (Shell garage) where Barton Road meets Fen Causeway. Turn left onto Trumpington Street at the mini-roundabout, and continue past the Fitzwilliam Museum on your left. Turn right into Pembroke Street, which becomes Downing Street. The Zoology Department is on the left just before the junction with Corn Exchange Street and the Crowne Plaza Hotel. There is no parking available on the New Museums Site where Zoology is located, but you can park in the Grand Arcade car park adjacent to Zoology in Corn Exchange Street. If this is full, follow signs for St. Anne's Terrace car park, about half a kilometre away.
There are services to Cambridge from King's Cross and Liverpool Street railway stations in London. There are one or two trains each hour from both stations, the faster of which takes just under an hour. Cambridge railway station is about 1 mile from the Department. Hourly services from London (Victoria) to Cambridge arriving on Parkside, are provided by National Express (telephone: 08705 80 80 80).
From Parkside turn left into Park Terrace, at the end turn right into St Andrew's Street, then turn left into Downing Street. The entrance to the Zoology Department is through an archway to your right after the junction with Corn Exchange Street. Go through the archway, turn immediately right and the main entrance is on your right. Reception is on the ground floor.
From the Train Station
By bike or on foot: Proceed along to end of Station Road. Turn right at statue onto Hills Road. Follow Hills Road and then Regent Street for about a kilometre and turn left onto Downing Street. Zoology is on the corner of Downing Street and Corn Exchange Street. The entrance is further down Downing Street through the archway opposite Tennis Court Road. When you pass through the archway turn immediately to your right and the main entrance is on your right.
By bus:Take the Citi 1 (Arbury), Citi 3 (Fison Road) or Citi 7 (Cottenham) from outside the station to the City Centre and stop at St Andrew's St.
From the City Centre, walk back up St. Andrews Street and then right into Downing Street. The entrance to the Zoology Department is through an archway to your right after the junction with Corn Exchange Street. Go through the archway, turn immediately right and the main entrance is on your right. Reception is on the ground floor.
