Applying to study in Zoology
The Department of Zoology is a great place to do your graduate studies, both in terms of its research expertise and the social opportunities available to meet other students.
The 36 research groups in the Department work on areas such as evolution, behaviour, conservation ecology, cellular and developmental biology and physiology. The groups are based either in the main Zoology building, in the Museum of Zoology, in the Wellcome/CR UK Gurdon Institute and in west Cambridge, at the Madingley site.
If you feel that you need a break from your project there are also several weekly seminars seriesthat you can attend. As for the social side of your studies, both the Department and the graduate representatives organise social events, such as the Christmas party, the weekly Happy Hour or the Madingley barbecue. Or if you’d rather do something a bit more active, there are also sports teams you can join.
Read on if you’d like to know what graduate students from the Department say about their experience.
