Interests and research

I am interested in the evolution and development of segmentation. I plan to investigate the developmental mechanisms underlying the generation of segments in the centipede Strigamia maritima, an emerging model representative of a hitherto under-studied group of arthropods.  This work will contribute to our understanding of the origin of segmentation and the possible relationship between vertebrate and arthropod segmentation mechanisms.
