Techniques such as acceptor photobleaching to measure FRET give us information about protein interactions in cells.
FACS analysis of cellular DNA content allows us to identify cells which are actively replicating their DNA.
Colocalisation of replication proteins (here PCNA) and newly synthesised DNA (by EdU incorporation) in replication factories can be visualised using fluorescence technologies.
