Coevolution

Coevolution is the process by which two interacting parties reciprocally select traits in each other. We study it in antagonistic interactions within species, such as between parents and offspring, as well as between species, such as between host and parasites or predators and prey. Our group has a long history of studying coevolution between brood parasitic birds and their hosts, and we work on cuckoos and other cheats in Australia, Africa, and the fens near Cambridge.
