Conservation Ecology

Our work involves a wide range of conservation topics, from the ecology of specific threatened species (from oceanic islands to the African Rift Valley), to broad-scale ecological phenomena of conservation importance such as sex ratio and geographical range shifts. A subject of particular long-term interest has been island conservation: islands offer exceptional opportunities for successful conservation intervention. But we need to understand better the factors that influence the conservation benefit per pound spent, and the factors that must be accounted for in conservation planning.
