Control of insect organ systems by synergistic action of multiple hormones.

Detailed analysis of fluid secretion and its control in Malpighian tubules of Drosophila, where the use of mutants allows a deeper dissection of the system. This involves both extracellularly acting hormones and intracellular second messengers.

Co-ordination of fluid and ion transport by different epithelial cells involved in a single physiological process.

Mechanism of fluid transport by epithelia.

The light that comparative physiology may cast on the different ecological success of different animal groupings in stressful environments.

The effects of elevated and depressed concentrations of oxygen on the growth and size of animals.
