I am an ecologist interested in how environmental factors shape animal behaviour and the implications this has for management and conservation. I completed my PhD at Bangor University in 2023, where I investigated habitat use and seasonal variation in the diet of fallow deer (Dama dama), and explored the consequences for woodland condition and management in North Wales.

I then undertook a 2.5 year postdoctoral position at the University of Reading and the University of Southampton, working on the iDeer project to develop an expert informed decision support tool that predicts deer impact risk to woodlands under different tree planting scenarios across England and Wales. Following this, I completed an eight month Research & Development fellowship with DEFRA, working as an analyst within a policy team to demonstrate how Natural Capital datasets can support progress toward national species abundance and habitat condition targets.

I am now a Research Associate with Professor Rob Fletcher in the Conservation Science Group, where I am assessing the utility of connectivity metrics and working with case studies from the Endangered Landscapes and Seascapes Programme to identify ways to effectively monitor connectivity across a wide range of restoration projects.
