Department of Zoology

I joined the Conservation Evidence team in June 2019 as a Postdoctoral Researcher. Prior to this I undertook my PhD in the Community Ecology group at the University of Oxford, investigating how plant enemies contribute to plant community structure and diversity in tropical forests. I undertook experimental and observational work on Barro Colorado Island, Panama. I have a diverse array of field biology experience and am passionate about capacity building within the conservation community.

I am broadly interested in biodiversity conservation with much of my work to date focusing upon the diversity of plant and insect communities. In my current role I am responsible for understanding how conservation professionals use scientific evidence in their work, and working with conservation practitioners, policy makers and funders to develop solution-focused projects to enable scientific evidence to be used more widely in conservation and to increase the impact and effectiveness.
