Department of Zoology

 

The Department has several Trust Funds that can provide financial support for study or research in Zoology. The Managers of each Fund can be found here.

An overview of application dates and deadlines is as follows:

Balfour Fund and PhD Studentship

A Balfour Studentship award may be offered, to start  October 2020.  There is no separate applications process.  Applications can only be made through the normal graduate admissions process.

Darlington Fund for the Study of Social Insects

Edith Mary Pratt Musgrave Fund A Graduate Studentship award may be offered, once funds permit.  There is no separate applications process.  Applications can only be made through the normal graduate admissions process.  

 

 

Hanne and Torkel Weis-Fogh Fund A Graduate Studentship award may be offered, once funds permit.  There is no separate applications process.  Applications can only be made through the normal graduate admissions process.  

 

 

Hans Gadow Memorial Fund The Gadow lectureship has been awarded to Dr Claire Spottiswoode (2016-2021) and applications are not invited.

John Stanley Gardiner Studentship

A Gardiner Studentship award may be offered, to start October 2020.  There is no separate applications process.  Applications can only be made through the normal graduate admissions process. 

Applications are therefore invited in the 2020-21 application window.

   
Michael Perkins Fund The Department intends to invite a guest Perkins Lecturer annually.  Applications for funding are not invited.
