About
My interests span across ecology, food system resilience, nature finance, and corporate sustainability. Prior to starting my PhD, I completed an integrated Master's in biology at the University of Oxford, where my Master's research focused on trade-offs between environmental and socio-economic outcomes in coffee agroforestry systems. Following this I worked for two years as a sustainable finance analyst at an investment management firm and corporate bank, where I gained experience in ESG research, corporate engagement, and stewardship.
Research
My PhD research asks two key questions: to what extent can wildlife-friendly practices support farmland biodiversity while maintaining agricultural productivity? What role can digital tools and metrics play in supporting agri-businesses to monitor, improve, and report on biodiversity at the farm level and beyond? I aim to address these questions by investigating the application of an 'action-based' biodiversity tool in tropical agricultural systems, using field studies to validate tool predictions against real biodiversity data. These studies will also analyse the interactions between biodiversity and yield under different wildlife-friendly farming strategies.
