Cambridge Biotomography Centre officially open

Colin Shaw demonstrates the microCT scanner

The formal opening of the School of Biology's new Cambridge Biotomography Centre ( took place at 12noon on Friday 16th January.  Those attending included colleagues from Zoology, PDN and Biological Anthropology.  The CBC houses a state of the art Nikon XT 225 ST microCT scanner, and is based in the Austin Building, Department of Zoology.  The facility was opened with a short talk from Head of Department, Prof Michael Akam, a toast with a glass of bubbly, and the symbolic cutting of a red ribbon. 

Colin Shaw (PAVE Research Group, Biological Anthropology) gave a short demonstration and declared the Centre open for business!
