(R) Prof Lynn Dicks talks to Daniel Zeichner (L) Lynn presents her research.

Last week, Daniel Zeichner, Minister of State for Food Security and Rural Affairs and MP for Cambridge, visited the University of Cambridge Sainsbury Lab for a series of research demonstrations which included work from this department. Mr Zeichner's portfolio includes Environmental Land Management (ELMS), food security, agri-science and farmed animal welfare.

Professor Lynn Dicks, leader of our Agroecology Group presented the latest findings of the H3 research on regenerative agriculture. During this ongoing five-year project, members of Agroecology have worked collaboratively with farming clusters in the UK to study the impacts of a transition to regenerative agriculture. Their research aims to guide future studies to transform theoretical ecology into testable hypotheses in real-world systems and provide actionable evidence to inform agricultural policies in the UK and beyond.

We hope the research presented, along with the discussions that followed, will have impressed the Minister with the potential to transform agriculture and ensure long term sustainability.
