Department of Zoology

With a background in mechanical engineering, I am currently a PhD student and a Research Assistant at the Insect Biomechanics group at the Department of Zoology, University of Cambridge, UK. Funded by an HFSP grant, my research encompasses various mechanical testing methods for investigating the role of insect cuticular lipid layers in different biological functions such as waterproofing, lubrication, and adhesion.

My previous experience in material fabrication, characterization, polymer rheology, composite material testing, bioimplants, and advanced manufacturing methods will aid me in using my engineering skills to answer fundamental scientific questions effectively.

I completed my MS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. My research encompassed using AI for smart manufacturing, focusing on developing a full-fledged assembly guidance system using AI in manufacturing.
I also bring 3 years of professional work experience as an engineer in the oil and gas sector at Indian Oil Corporation Limited, India.

I am interested in expanding my career in the intersection of manufacturing, AI, and biomedical engineering.
