Department of Zoology

This Fund was established in memory of the distinguished scientific work of Professor Torkel Weis-Fogh in the fields of zoology and zoophysiology in Denmark and in England.

The Weis-Fogh Trust Fund invites applications for a graduate studentship in the Department of Zoology, to start in Michaelmas Term (i.e. October) 2019.

The PhD studentship is for three years and covers maintenance and (Home/EU) fees.  A contribution to travel and research costs may be available. The studentship can be in any field of zoology. It is an essential requirement of this studentship that it includes an element of exchange or collaboration between the Universities of Copenhagen or Aarhus, and Cambridge.  For example, the studentship could be offered to a student registered at Cambridge, but spending significant time in Denmark or in collaboration with Danish researchers.

To apply for this studentship, you will need to follow the normal graduate admissions process of the University.  The first step is to identify a potential Zoology supervisor at Cambridge. Please see the detailed guidance on applying for postgraduate study at: https://www.zoo.cam.ac.uk/study/postgraduate.

Applications for small research awards from the Weis-Fogh Trust Fund are not invited this year.
