Research

Consensus building in coastal communities (especially around coastal wetlands’ development, conservation and restorations); citizens’ participation in decision making; risk communication; risk perception; social perceptions towards mud flats and wetlands; participatory indicators for restoration projects; commons; environmental sociology; communication, education, participation and awareness (CEPA)  
 
Current project:
Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) funded project:  
“Risk acceptance and consensus building on English coastal realignment and seawall construction projects with coastal ecological infrastructures”

The aim of this research project is to investigate contractors’ and citizens’ risk acceptance towards coastal realignment projects, and consensus building processes in England.
