Current opportunities

Expressions of interest for summer projects for next year are welcome. 

 

How to apply

 When applying for an internship or summer placements, please include:

  1. A CV detailing your academic achievements, any research experience and other information you think might be helpful
  2. The names of at least two referees who can comment on your aptitude for research.
  3. A short statement about why you would be interested in the position and this area of research

 

Desired skills

The posts in the group are suitable for individuals with a bachelors degree in Neuroscience or another Biological subject or a strong quantitative background (Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Maths, Engineering) and some basic understanding of neuroscience. Full training will be given (some of it may be at Janelia Research Campus in the US) but it would be helpful to have some background in at least one of neural circuits, Drosophila, programming/image analysis. You will have the opportunity to help define your specific research directions, to present your work at conferences and contribute to scientific papers. You should have good communication and team-working skills and above all be strongly motivated to understand the circuit basis of brain function and behaviour.
