Research Interests

I am interested in the genetic and ecological factors underlying adaptation and speciation. In particular, I work with species of the genus Heliconius, mimetic neotropical butterflies with a huge diversity in wing patterns. I study the role of pheromones in species recognition and sexual communication though a combination of behavioural and genetic experiments.
