Department of Zoology

I graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2017 with a BA in Natural Sciences.
I am currently undertaking a research MPhil in Dr. Walter Federle's group, Insect Biomechanics.

I am investigating how Lepidoptera larvae (caterpillars) use silk to attach to slippery surfaces, such as host plant leaves. Caterpillars, especially early instars, cannot attach to plant surfaces without the use of silk. This is an important aspect of caterpillar-plant interactions which has not yet been thoroughly studied.
